Of the 8 or so pieces I made for a “design principles” assignment in my AP Photo class, this has been the most successful. I’m honestly surprised, because it was so inspired by Flume’s album cover, but people loved the simplicity and symmetry of it. I scanned an image from a Sotheby’s catalogue, cropped it so it was level, and played around with the math and sizing of each layer. Personally, I made this on a whim, and thought some of my more original pieces were better (soon to come), but I’m open to what my classmates said. I’ve always felt like I could recognize good design (recognize, not necessarily create), so this was a surprise.
